Knitting Shetland Lace: November 13 and 20, 5:30 to 7:30pm
Conquer your fears of lace knitting with this beautiful Shetland Lace Scarf. This scarf has 5 different types of traditional Shetland Lace that are all knit on a garter stitch base. The scarf is a beautiful sampler that allows you to learn while trying out different patterns and designs. In this class, we’ll cover reading a lace pattern, marking your pattern for ease of use, how to read a flat lace pattern (right side vs. wrong side), fixing mistakes, using a lifeline and blocking your finished project. Students should be comfortable knitting, purling, and with basic increases and decreases.
