Needle felting is the process of taking wool fibers and shaping them with a barbed needle to tangle the fibers together and create a solid fabric. In this class, we will be using this technique to create 2-D still life “wool paintings” of brightly-colored, textured fruits that look like they were painted with watercolors. We’ll go through the process of creating basic fruit shapes, like apples, bananas, or pears, and focus especially on how to blend colors to create shadows and highlights, color gradients, and outlines. By the end of the class, you will have created a set of colorful, playful fruits that are perfect for decorating your home or giving as a gift. Beginners welcome.
