New Fabrics, New Yarns, New Classes, All New Fun things

Fall is a busy time here at Knit & Bolt. We get lots of new lines of fabric in. New yarns are released into the world. And our instructors also just pack the schedule with fun classes for you all. So that means I have a lot of things to share with you.

New Fabrics

We have new lines from Moda, Blend, and Cotton+Steel

We have Moda’s Metropolis by Basic Grey newly in stock and their Dot Dot Boo Halloween line too.

Blend Fabric’s Boo Bash Halloween line reminds me of my childhood.

The Moonrise fabric is Alexia Abegg’s last Cotton+Steel collection. I’m excited to have all of the fabrics from this witchy fabric line.

Rashida Coleman-Hale’s last line for Cotton+Steel is Akoma. The line was inspired by the Adinkra symbols of the Akan of Ghana and the Gyaman of the Cote d’Ivoire. It is a bold and strong line.

New Yarns

We have new Rasta colors from Malabrigo. A new line Scout from Kelbourne Woolens. And a fun new sample in Cloud9Fibers Bennoto. The sample is

Get to know Johnna, Knitting Instructor Extraordinaire

When someone asks me "Do you know anyone that teaches knitting?" the name comes to mind, Johnna Lush. She has a wonderful infectious laugh and a way of explaining things that just makes since.  She has a few upcoming classes like Magic Loop Socks, so why don't we get to know her.

Who are you?

I am Johnna Lush. I live in NE Mpls with my husband and a 25 pound, 17-year old chihuahua mix breed named Jane. I am a Poli Sci graduate from the University of Kentucky who is currently a mail carrier. Oh, and professional yarn smeller!!

How long have you been sewing, knitting, etc?

I taught myself knitting in 2005, and have been compulsively knitting ever since.  I love stranded knitting, entrelac and knitting shawls. I have no love for intarsia. I dream of road tripping to sheep and wool festivals around the country (and New Zealand too)!

What is your background in teaching?

Started teaching at CP in 2011 (I think). Have taught all types of knitting and can't believe I get paid to get other people knitting!!

Here's Johnna (black tshirt) Teaching our recent colorwork class. Her students made some pretty cool stockings.

If you can't make any of the prescheduled classes Johnna also teaches one-on-one. Just shoot us an email with what you would like to learn.
