Our beginner hand embroidery class is coming up on Aug 13th (there are still spot open) and I thought it would be fun to get to know our instructor for the class Trish Hoskins.
Yes, the very same Trish that started and owned Crafty Planet. She is giving us her time, knowledge, and keeping her feet in the crafty world.
Here are Trish's answers to a little "getting to know you" questionnaire that I gave her.
Who are you?
Law librarian day, crafty superhero by night, I am the co-owner of Crafty Planet, an arts events promotion and design company producing sewing and needlework patterns. I enjoy knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, embroidery, and cross-stitching, and has taught classes in all of the above for over 12 years. I'm also a co-author of One-Yard Wonders, Fabric-by-Fabric One-YardWonders, Little One-Yard Wonders, and How to Make Slipcovers.
How long have you been sewing, knitting, etc
Since I was a wee lass; my first needlework project still in my possession is an embroidery and appliqué project made when I was 4 years old.
Your background in teaching: years teaching for Crafty Planet, other places
I taught classes for 13+ years at Crafty Planet in sewing, quilting, embroidery, knitting, crochet, and other crafts.
